Since the day of the wedding while in Jamaica had rained more on than off, we didn’t get the chance to do a lot of outdoor tropical photos on the wedding day.  You may not be able to tell this from the photos from their wedding day because  it was just as happy of an occasion rain or shine!

If I had this dress from Vera Wang, I would have wanted to wear it again the next day anyway and maybe the day after, and possibly on the plane on the way home!! So we headed to the beach the day after the wedding to do a few more shots. This was just another chance to fill my heart up more with my love for travel & photography.

Old tales speak that it is supposed to be a sign of great wedding & marriage luck to rain on the wedding day. Rain symbolizes blessings, cleansing, unity, and a new day. It marks the start of a new chapter in life, one that should be blessed, blissful, and filled with good fortune and I hope this is true for Stephen & Rhiannon. xo

Is life all about chance and fate? I wonder these ideas this all the time. But when i heard the story of Melissa & Steve my belief in fate becomes stronger. They met in Halifax by chance and lived in separate provinces. The chance that they were put together in the same province was a stroke of fate to later be combined into love. I adore hearing the stories of how people in love first meet and then later fall in deep adoration for each other.

We did this session just around our Province House in Charlottetown. This is known as the birthplace of Confederation and the location of Prince Edward Island’s provincial legislature. It is a beautiful old building with so much character and is centrally located in the core of our “downtown”

I was glad to share this session with you both and get to know you before the big day, which will be very soon! How exciting it is to get to know all of these amazing people! I cannot wait to be a part of your big day!

Rhiannon and Stephen met 7 years ago. They enjoyed PEI together for 2 of those years and then moved to Toronto from Prince Edward Island 5 years ago when Stephen was offered a job with a marketing company. They love Toronto a lot and have many friends and family near them.

Meeting the bride and groom and getting to know them as the week goes on is very exciting as it helps for the wedding day. I also love getting to meet the people that are involved in the wedding. I love hearing people stories and learn about their lives and interests. I always learn surprising things about others that make me then learn about myself. What a learning adventure this life is!

My most favourite part about getting to do a destination wedding is all the amazing people that you meet. Of course travelling to cool destinations is awesome too! I loved being able to be a part of your big day in Jamaica this past week. It was my pleasure to meet everyone and thank everyone for the welcoming and reception I did get to be part of the group! Thank you all for making this as special of a week for me as it was for you all!

I met Devin and Aaron out at one of my favourite beaches for a little engagement session before these two set sail on their first cruise adventure. I am always am in awe of the beauty of our little island. A beautiful day and an empty beach with these two lovebirds made for a pretty amazing start to a day!

Devin & Aaron have been together for some time now and this would have been the first time they were photographed together professionally. This was exciting to me that they choose me to begin with! Both Devin & Aaron were so sweet to work with and I hope this wont be my last encounter with them.

My dream of dating Tim Tebow basically was squished by these two love birds. They told me that Tim is now dating Taylor Swift. Well, I hadn’t heard about this from Tim himself so I will choose to ignore it. My dream continues.

Amy & “Turry” (real name Terry) are totally into each other, like any ready to be married couples should be. My most favorite thing I noticed about them, was when they kissed. The second following, they would smile. Smile, like it was a first kiss. I love being around people totally in love. The look when it is naturally written all over the faces of the couple. It makes my heart happy, and sing with excitement.

My face could not be more sore from laughing with these two. If they are this much fun on the engagement session, then I cannot wait for the wedding. I do believe you need to be able to laugh, have fun and just be plain ridiculous with your mate because it enriches the soul, brings it to life.

Giselle and Brian are country people. Brian, originally from PEI, grew up working for the family sawmill business and participated in lumberjack competitions. Giselle grew up nearby in a farm in Nova Scotia. An artist, Giselle loves sculpting and painting. I knew that a rustic location for this engagement shoot would be perfect. Now living in Alberta, Giselle and Brian are a sweet, down to earth pair getting ready to tie the knot this year. I so cannot wait to be a part of their special day!

The quiet rhythmic monotone of the wall of logs fills one with the rustic peaceful love of a secluded nook in the woods. 

Josh & Lindsay were destined to be together. They had mutual friends growing up but never really knew each other until one fateful night when they started chatting. It was just for a few minutes but a few nights later they went out and the rest is history. They were engaged during an excursion in Cuba while on vacation. A local street guy was singing to them in Spanish. Josh thought it was a perfect opportunity to propose since the man was trying to sing them a love song.

Fun, Easy going  & Happiness are all words I could use to describe this wedding day. Hockey was sure to be a part of it all and we even stopped to have a quick photo opportunity playing hockey with the groomsmen. This was natural since Josh & his friends who grew up living breathing & eating hockey as part of Andrews Hockey school. We even had time to doing a little trampoline fun! It was all fun and I love when the wedding party and everyone involved is so easy going, amazing and fun like this!

Following the wedding they took in a sweet honeymoon for 18 days in one of the most magical places on earth; HAWAII!

The article discussed how our group is being published on various online wedding resource websites & print magazines because of our Stylized Shoots!  This is exciting because we all love PEI with all of our hearts and want the world to see how amazing it is! It is always awesome to see my photos in print, inside of  a magazine. This months issue of House & Home features Chef Gordon Bailey and his restaurant Lot 30; located here in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. It was a pleasure to work with him and his wife while creating this shoot! House & Home  is “The Magazine of Home & Style”, go out and pick it up to see the whole article in print!

Seeing my photos on the pages of a magazine is not only awesome but will always make me proud. Not proud that ‘my photos’ are featured but proud that I followed my dreams. It was a very hard decision to follow those dreams and move on from my secure desk job (anyone who knows me laughs when they envision me sitting behind a desk). Was it the fear of failing or more the fear of succeeding that held me back? I am glad I left that night from  my desk and took the chance that life was handing me!
