I talked to Madison about future career plans. Their is a lot of pressure in Grade 9, 10 & on ward in school to make some choices for future paths. She asked me a lot of questions as to what led me to where I am. Of course I don't feel like I am the one with all the answers but felt I have quite a bit of life experience to share with her. Madison is smart & very open. Like really smart & open to all possibilities. I know that whatever she chooses she will succeed & I will be right there to cheer her on!
Oh did I mention that I love her. Cause I do. A lot.

Since I'm in grade nine this year we get to take part in "International Take Your Child To Work Day" and explore different work environments. I decided to come with my aunt Rachel to see how she run's her Photography business. I was lucky as I heard she had a few requests to join her today. I've always had an interest in creative jobs like photography, graphic design, and art in general. So I took this as an opportunity to learn about it.
As the year's been going we've had to think more seriously about our future career path. We've done activities in things like animation, digital photography, and video editing. I don't exactly know what will be in my future but I know it won't involve writing, haha.
As we are working on an Empower The Dress album, listening to Taylor Swift, and drinking our Starbucks I see the positive freedom of running your own business. It's noon and we've already booked two trips, have had no set schedule, read a few jokes, and talked non-stop.
"You had a vision, and you knew what you wanted to have it look like, so you will try your best to make it look that way" - Madison
"I love my Madison & excited 2 get 2 spend the day with her" - Rachel
Ahh OMG so fun. Want to be there too! :)

It is not my favorite because it is my birthday and I am getting older. BUT my birthday reminds me each year to celebrate my life and keep adding and scratching things off of my bucket list. My bucket list is a never ending life list. So I am going to add 10 (in the spirit of 10-10-10) right now, off the top of my head that I want to accomplish this coming year.
Here weeeeeeee goooooooooooo!
1 - Travel to Bhutan (my/the land of happiness), to live with a local family and experience their culture
2 - Try to go in the ocean water past my knees without hyperventilating or holding someones hand
3 - Be able to run 10k again without hyperventilating or holding someones hand
4 - Become a morning person or at least not growl because the alarm is going off!
5 - Read More
6 - Relax More
7 - Hug More
8 - Speak in public without hyperventilating or holding someones hand ( A lot of hyperventilating & landholding going on which made me think of adding another mini one)
8a - Hold someone's hand because of love...REAL LOVE
9 - Pay more attention to my intuition and follow it
10 - Meditate Daily starting today
Happy Birthday, I will still hold ur hand through any of those things, just in case u need me!
(10.10.10)Cheers to you! Happy Birthday! I hope its a fantastic one just like yourself! Facebook is a wonderful thing....you may not see someone often enough but they are still very much a part of your life. Thanks for sharing your zest for life....you inspire people and that really says something about YOU :)
(10.10.10)I will be always here to hold your hand, I think I actually did when we were in Cuba and we went in the water :) Happy Birthday sweet friend!
(10.10.10)If you want a place to practice public speaking, the photo club is always looking ;-) Average attendance is 30-40 of a 90 member group.

Jean moved to Canada with her late husband Robert or better known as Bert. The couple originated from Scotland, and moved here because Bert was given a business opportunity many many years ago. Jean now calls Edmonton her home. Krista (my beautiful bride from today) met Jean & Bert because Krista's father worked with him. Bert & Krista's Dad became great friends, and because of this they became like an extended family.
As I was listening to her stories of travel, life and adventure, I could only hope this would be me when I was 80. Jean was on her way to Hawaii after PEI, then to San Fransisco and finally to Montreal and then back to Edmonton. She told me that Hawaii was her favorite place of all the places worldwide she had ever been to. When I asked her about her love for traveling, she answered like a 50 year old saying "I should do it now before I get old". Jean went on to tell me "that life was for living not sitting around waiting to get old".
This is the exact moments I love about my weddings, my couples that I get the privilege to work with. I meet the most amazing people who give me signs that I am the correct path of life. It is like the universe is constantly poking at me saying, keep going. Just keep going.
I met Jean as she sat reading her book about love (Betty Neals - Slice of Summer). How fitting for her to be reading about love, when it was happening right in front of her face between two people that she loved so much!

Oh Hawaii!!! I wish I could have met her!
(08.30.10)Coming in to work is quite enjoyable when I get to read your blog posts! This woman is inspiring.
(08.30.10)You meet the most amazing people in your work.
(08.30.10)This is awesome. I love when you write these sorts of posts!
(08.31.10)Actually met her at the airport on Monday..."after, having read your post and seeing her pics! I felt obliged to introduce myself to her and tell her that I had see her pics...she truly is a gem!
(08.31.10)This is so fabulous! You know I love this story!
(09.01.10)Jean is the greatest person in the world and always full of life!!!! She is like a second mother to me and having her visit PEI for the wedding was one of the joys of the day! This lady should be considered a treasure to all because of her class, style and great humor!!!! Love you Always Jean!!!

wish: (plural wishes)
This is exactly what my sister did. She made 3 wishes. 3 huge wishes. I bought her a wish bracelet on one of my ventures from the "oh so cool" store Fred Segal in Los Angeles. The rule of the bracelet was to make 3 wishes and when they came true, the bracelet would fall off. This past May when we were in Cuba, the bracelet came off. She tossed the bracelet into the ocean hoping that her wishes would all come complete and the wishes of others would come true as well.
This is my sister ~ who is always there for me, through thick and thin. A sister is a special friendship that I would wish for everyone. This is my personal buddha ~ who can calm me down and brings logic into my ever moving mind.
This is my assistant ~ who can always come up with amazingly creative ideas when I hit a wall.
This is my friend ~ who is the most loyal, loving, giving girl around & can make me laugh with her witty remarks.
This is my BFF ~ who I cannot imagine my world without.

Happy Birthday Kimmy...I fell like I know you through Rachel. She speaks so highly of you and loves you so much...you have a great sister relationship. Have a wonderful day!
