We have our outfits, and now we are ready to get some photographs. Let's have some fun and make some beautiful art!

Ok first let's give you a little background on Jodi & Dav-o (pretty sure his name is Dave, but Jodi calls him Dav-o, and now I do too!).

I met Jodi when we were matched up to room together in Las Vegas last year for a conference. I had booked a room for myself and at the last minute I was going solo. I mentioned to some cool photography friends I know in Ontario that I was gonna be by myself and was checking to see if anyone needed a roommate. They were all booked and had the rooms set and full. Sooooo I just left it to fate to help me out. At the last minute, little Jodi Klassen appeared from Winnipeg reaching out to the same cool photography friends in Ontario. Jodi was now also looking for a roommate. It seemed like we were meant to room together. Soooo we became roommates and fast friends!

Jodi has her own photography business in Winnipeg photographing weddings, families, and babies. Jodi is the type of soul that will turn her self inside out to help someone if need be. I am very happy that the universe has brought her to me and that my cool Ontario girls shared her with me! Dav-o is totally in love with Jodi; I can see the love and respect when he looks at her. I asked them a million questions about how they met and love; i wanted to hear everything. I cannot wait to be in love and have fun with each other just like these two!

In October of this year, Jodi and Dav-o were coming to PEI to explore my beautiful island. I decided they would stay at my place on their visit and would not take no for an answer. Since it was fall and such a gorgeous day we did our shoot on one of their last days here. So suited up with our outfits we had purchased the day before at Value Village, away we go!

So I get asked this question a lot. a lot.

What do I wear to our Engagement/Love Session?

The possibilities are endless. They REALLY REALLY are. To prove this, my friend (a photographer from Winnipeg) Jodi & her husband Dave provided me with their amazing spirit, and attitude and helped me out!

1.    Wear something that you love and feel comfortable in it. If you aren't comfortable in the way you look, it will be more difficult to capture you in your real personality. It might show up in the photos.

3.  Choose outfits that are complimentary in style; no need to be matchy matchy.  Not to often are you both getting up in the morning asking each other what you are wearing so you can match. I don't particularly want you both to wear black shirts & jeans either. What you will see in the next blog post matches but does not look you are trying to be twins! Try to stay away from patterns, and logos.

4.  Let's talk shoes and accessories! I love them both!

5. Props & Themes. I love them, I love using them, and doing the whole session around them! It helps if I know your likes and dislikes before so I can try to center the session around a theme that suits you!

So my friends Jodi & Davooooo went to Value Village and spent around $30 to outfit both of them including shoes and jewelery. I am not saying that you have to spend money at all, but if you are going to buy an outfit, you may end up spending more than $30 at a store.

Check out the next blog post to see the shoot after we put all of our purchases together!

...oh one more thing....have fun!

Friends & Family! I had such a great & grateful time doing Cans for Comments last year I am doing it again this year!

I have just returned from an amazing vacation and enjoyed all that I was exposed to. I met amazing people, had amazing moments and seen some amazing land. I met giving people, brilliant people, happy people and sharing people. I think that every encounter in life is meant for you to learn something from and for that I am grateful.

Giving to others is part of what we are placed on this earth for. I feel extremely blessed with all I have, in my world. I am especially grateful for the love that surrounds me.

So it is simple...comment ANYWHERE on my blog and it will be tracked from today forward.
For every comment left on my blog between now and December 18th, I will donate a can of goods to the local food bank. Helping someone this holiday season has never been easier. The more comments, the more cans I donate! Feel free to comment more than once because I have no limit on giving! Grab a coffee and start commenting!

"Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love."

Hey Rachelli, glad to see you had a nice trip, pictures are great. I have had no heat since last night, trying to avoid the weekend service call, I worked on it all day today but broke down and just had my new good friend Kirk leave after 2 hours trying to figure it out. I got heat now and as he was leaving he tells me that because of all the trouble I had today, its on the house. So to return the giving I want to match your cans donated tomorrow ( Sunday ). Take care.

I love to travel. Anyone who knows me already knows that. Their is one thing I hate about traveling that people might be surprised at. I hate leaving my work. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. It feels uncontrollable & uncomfortable. Am I a workaholic because I like to be at work? or does that just mean I enjoy my chosen path?

I have about 10000 butterflies in my stomach right now as I sit in the Ottawa airport waiting for my next flight to fun. I worry about the people who didn't their pics sooner than later. I worry about my sister who helped non stop get as much done as humanly possible. Worry. Worry. Worry. Oh and then there is the guilt. The guilt of others that say they want to travel but cannot afford it, and they say "it must be nice". I want everyone to be able to see the world with as much excitement as I do. I really do. I do know that I need the break, I just wish everyone could break with me!

I know that when you start doing things that you love and really want, not everyone is going to understand. I love being able to travel and have the freedom to do so with no children, big mortgage or student loans. These are all choices for me. They may not work for everyone but they work for me at this stage of my life.

I know it will be difficult to quiet my mind with the zillion of things that go through it in a day. I am hoping that the sound of the ocean, the company I will keep and the sand between my toes will help!

StaceyRon22.jpg

*Update* since I started the post. Here is what happened.

As I was just sitting here feeling guilty & thinking about work. Enrrrrrriquo (a fun flight attentant for my next flight) with 6 R's just sat himself down and asked me where I was going. I said to Jamaica and told him of my guilt. Why do people just feel the need to come up to me to chat? LOL...anyways.....Enriquo told me that I was creating revenue for the people at the resort, so to make sure I party it up and enjoy myself! Also, that I will come back from vacation with a million more ideas in my head than before I left! I meet the funniest & most amazing people at airports.

So thank You
Enriquo & everyone else who forced me away from the computer & from staying home and working some more.

Thank you very much.

So yesterday I did 20 boudoir/ pole shoots with 20 amazing women. One session right after another. What an amazing day! Most of these women, I would guess 90% had never done a photography session like this before. I was glad to have one on one time with each of these "models".

When I had this one on one time with each women, I asked them a question. Most of them were doing this for Christmas presents for their partners but one girls answer to this question was awesome! This paticular client said that she was doing this shoot for herself. She was really in shock that she was doing this at all. Her along with everyone who has ever done a boudoir shoot with me was extremely nervous. This client wanted to help her self esteem, and move further on this journey of self enlightenment. The pole classes that she was taking were helping her coming out of her shell of shyness.

I believe that everyone of these women were involved for a good reason. Each one of them gave me a piece of their personalities in these sessions last night. I hope that they all felt beautiful as they looked!
