I need to pee. I need to pee. I NEED TO PEE.

When will we be stopping?

I need to peeeeeeeeeeeeee.

The snow is nicer in New York State. I am tired. I need to pee. But it is all worth it to spend all this time with these wonderful girls.

I love getting my hair braided by Jodi.

I love learning all the wisdom of the world from my European friend Nataschia

I love laughing and playing tricks on the other girls with Krista.

I love hearing about love from Rosita.

I love that I can trust Sandra to get me safely where we are going.

I drank too much Starbucks and I need to peeeeeeee.

Christmas is amazing and heartbreaking all at once. Two extreme ends of the emotional spectrum but for many people experiencing the heartbreaking end they can not imagine the amazing end of that spectrum.

This is a particularly hard time for families that have lost a special someone. Unexpectedly just the other day, one of my best friends from high school lost her father; whom she was extremely close to. My heart breaks for her, and I cannot imagine the pain that she is experiencing. Christmas may never be the same for her & the rest of her family. This is the kind of pain that presents and gifts cannot take away, or make a heart smile. It is the kind of pain you wish you could wave a magic wand and not have a dear friend or anyone experience. If I could I would do so. I hate to see people in pain and heart, my empathetic soul hurts for her and her family.

I know their are many other families on PEI are also experiencing deep heartbreak and for them I am sadden as well. Any of these losses would hurt any time of the year but this time of year they seem to break your heart even more.

I believe this is a lesson that the Universe has sent me. It is to hug my family more, laugh more, listen more, be present more, enjoy every single moment with my family more. I send this lesson to each of you as this holiday season passes and we begin another year & another chance to live as fully as your soul can allow.

XO to each and everyone of you who have taught me many lessons about life, happiness and sorrow this past year. I treasure each one of you in my life.

Madison who is now 14 years old, or 5 in my mind.
Meleah aka Sparky Ming Ming is now 7 years old or 3 in my mind.

It's just that easy. You pretend time stood still and no one has aged. It gets a little harder to play this game when you open your eyes and see how much they have grown. It seems like yesterday I was in the delivery room when Meleah was being born. The day before that so shy Madison would barely give me a hug at the young age of 2. It is days like the day of this shoot when I think how precious life is and how people should remain in the moment as much as they can. All I could hear is laughter and squeals as we played at the playground. Oh it is also easy for me to think I am as young as they are. I cannot imagine not soaking up every precious moment with them every chance I get.

Oh these girls own my heart whether they are 3, 5, 28 or 50. I cannot imagine my life without them.

I loved that Sparky Ming Ming allowed me to come to school with her and capture her life in Grade 2. Grade 2? Yes. Grade 2. Seriously where does the time go?

We met with her teacher Miss Callaghan, and she was more than happy to let us capture this age and grade at school. Meleah really likes her teacher and was excited to do photos in her class. She showed me around the school with such pride.

Meleah has a variety of personality traits that I adore about her.

:funny
:sentimental
:rock n roll girl - very musical
:aspiring, ambitious, motivated
:cheerful
:thoughtful

...and the thing I love the most, is that she gives the VERY best hugs!
