80 is the new 50, that is what she said to me. I knew she was talking about age, but didn't think it was possible for her to be 80 years old. Jean has the spirit of a young person. As soon as she started talking, I knew I should just listen.

Jean moved to Canada with her late husband Robert or better known as Bert. The couple originated from Scotland, and moved here because Bert was given a business opportunity many many years ago. Jean now calls Edmonton her home. Krista (my beautiful bride from today) met Jean & Bert because Krista's father worked with him. Bert & Krista's Dad became great friends, and because of this they became like an extended family.

As I was listening to her stories of travel, life and adventure, I could only hope this would be me when I was 80. Jean was on her way to Hawaii after PEI, then to San Fransisco and finally to Montreal and then back to Edmonton. She told me that Hawaii was her favorite place of all the places worldwide she had ever been to. When I asked her about her love for traveling, she answered like a 50 year old saying "I should do it now before I get old". Jean went on to tell me "that life was for living not sitting around waiting to get old".

This is the exact moments I love about my weddings, my couples that I get the privilege to work with. I meet the most amazing people who give me signs that I am the correct path of life. It is like the universe is constantly poking at me saying, keep going. Just keep going.

I met Jean as she sat reading her book about love (Betty Neals - Slice of Summer). How fitting for her to be reading about love, when it was happening right in front of her face between two people that she loved so much!

I met Katelyn & David over a year ago when we choose to meet to do their engagement session in Charlottetown. I knew from the minute I met them that they would be a sweet couple to work with. I spent the time with them doing their session which seems like yesterday, but now that along with their wedding day have passed. It is hard to believe that wedding photography requires over a year ahead to be booked.

Katelyn & David's day was at the beautiful Stanley Bridge Resort. The weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony overlooking the water. Friends and Family were all very happy to see this amazing time finally here! We then went around the New London area to do photos. The day ended back at Stanley Bridge Resort for a delicious meal and some dancing!

Amy & Jared were so welcoming to me, along with the amazing wedding party & families. I felt like I was part of the day. A part of the day as a friend. Everything was held out at beautiful Stanhope Resort, in Stanhope, Prince Edward Island with a water front view, on both sides of us. The weather was great, and the location, wedding party and families were all stunning.

The thing about Amy and Jared is that they are beautiful, really beautiful, on the inside and out. I love these kind of people. The supporting cast of their friends and family made the day all the more memorable. I cannot stress enough to new brides to take it as a big decision to make on who is in your wedding parties and why! When I first heard that the wedding party was going to be this big, I got a little worried, but then as the day went on I loved it more and more. I had the chance to talk with almost everyone of the wedding party individually and get to know them. I think Amy & Jared made great choices!

Krista is beautiful on the inside and outside, and Marc, along with family and friends recognize that. From the moment I met these two I could see it. As Marc watched Krista come down the aisle looking as gorgeous as ever his eyes welled up with tears. I have seen this many many times on a wedding day, but it always gets to me. It is just the look of sheer happiness and love all in teardrops. *insert tears of my own here* I usually get a little choked up at this point, yep pretty much every wedding and of course Marc & Krista's was no different!

It was probably one of the hottest days of the summer so far on Prince Edward Island but that didn't stop us from getting lots of photos all around downtown Charlottetown. Their are so many great heritage buildings and colorful places that it makes it easy to use as a backdrop. Although, it was very welcome to have the reception back at the Delta in air conditioned comfort!

Marc & Krista, I hope you two had just as much fun on your day as I had capturing it!

Well let me tell you a bit about my friends Becky & Jarvis. You know when there are people that you meet and you know you will be friends with for a long time. It doesn't matter that you are provinces apart or may have just met. Well these two people have become "those sort of people".

Becky & Jarvis are the sweetest, most adorable people I imagined them to be. I love when I first start corresponding with a couple via email and then I meet them and they are all I have dreamt them to be. This sweet couple live in Toronto where they have graciously opened up their home to me, and have offered me accommodations and travel many times. I went to Toronto the past fall to do their engagement session in the Distillery District and now they were getting married on PEI!

The day had come for their outdoor wedding, and it was a torrential downpour only 1 minute after the ceremony was set to go. With the great planning from Jennifer Clark of Kiss the Bride, we had a back up plan. We all headed back in from Argyle Shore into the Confederation Centre in Charlottetown, PEI where the reception was planned to happen later that day.

Becky had her heart set on outdoor island photos, so I planned with them for the following week to squeeze in (after juggling schedules/flights) an outdoor shoot. I couldn't have them leave the island without doing one. We ended up with a wide variety of indoor and outdoor shots for their wedding album.

I hope the time that we spent together the week of the wedding won't be the last time to hang out with you two. You are both wonderful people and I love how you love each other endlessly and effortlessly.
