Rockabilly is one of the earliest styles of rock and roll music, and emerged in the early 1950s.

The term rockabilly is a portmanteau of rock (from rock 'n' roll) and hillbilly, the latter a reference to the country music (often called hillbilly music in the 1940s and 1950s) that contributed strongly to the style's development. Other important influences on rockabilly include western swing, boogie woogie, and rhythm and blues. While there are notable exceptions, its origins lie primarily in the Southern United States.

The influence and popularity of the style waned in the 1960s, but during the late 1970s and early 1980s, rockabilly enjoyed a major revival of popularity that has endured to the present, often within a rockabilly subculture.

This post is a little bit long with a ton of shots in it. I kept trying to take more out, but I cannot do it. I love this couples style, and look so much that I would take 1 our and put 2 in!!

Vicki & Don may have even convinced me to go to Vegas for the millionth time to check out the
Rockabilly Party this coming Spring. I would not fun or take any pictures I am sure!!!

Hmmmm what am I going to do with my life? What will I be when I grow up? I want to travel, no wait I want to stay here. I like country music, no I hate country music. I am soooo in love, grrrr I don't want to date you anymore! These are all typical thoughts & questions that run through the mind of most teenagers these days. I know for sure they were going through mine when I was in grade 11. They still run through my mind from time to time. Bree is typical in that way but unique in so many others.

Bree has all those thoughts and many more going around in her mind. I could see the words all spinning around her head when we met. We instantly laughed and chatted as we snapped pics all around downtown Charlottetown. I thinks she is absolutely stunning inside and out. I love that I can connect with young girls easily and get right back to that grade 11 state of mind.

Bree and I chatted about likes and dislikes. I was most excited to here that she did not infact have Bieber-fever but one of her favorite Band is the Killers and that she has quite an interest in photography!

Tomorrow's a mystery but that's okay, cause your a girl on a mission - you're ready to fly! I am sure all the decisions of life will all work out for you Bree. It is funny that as we grow we find out we will always have questions and play the "what if" game. Life is all about learning lessons and growing from them, and we will continue to do as we grow old.

The beauty of a woman
Is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries,
Or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman
Must be seen from her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman
Is not a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman
Is reflected in her soul.

It is the caring she lovingly gives,
The Passion that she shows.
The beauty of a woman with passing years --
only grows and grows.

Angela is the latest member of the Island Tweethearts. We welcomed her yesterday officially as one of our founders did a random draw for the open position. The Tweethearts have had much interest in our group of networking women and have much media exposure.

I had met Angela before the official welcome to our group on the evening we decided to do her photo shoot. Angela works at UPEI as a Fitness & Wellness Coordinator and has been in that position for the past 4 years. She has a fun loving, gentle personality which is awesome!

I love doing Everyone is Beautiful Sessions with women. Women need to
know that they are loved and that they are beautiful inside and out.

I was asked by a good friend if I would take photos of her niece and her friends on her niece's 13th birthday night. This sounded like fun to me. The girls were doing their hair when I arrived and pretty excited to get photos taken.

Being 13 is a crazy age for many girls. I think Empowering them and nurturing them is soooo very important. I read somewhere a long time ago that 13 is the tenderest age of growing up. It is the age where girls decide a lot of things about themselves and their self worth. I hope that this photo shoot made these girls feel beautiful on the inside and out, that is after all what an Everyone is Beautiful shoot is all about.

"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."

Trienke & Jane have no idea how much they brightened my day. They were willing to be excited about any idea I had for a photo. They didn't even question a thing I said. I had photographed Trienke last spring in an Everyone is Beautiful Session. I was excited to photograph her again, and this time with her cousin, Jane.

We walked around downtown beautiful Charlottetown after sampling pretty much everything that Gusto's had to offer. I laughed at these two so much on the outside and the inside. Sometimes when you are having a bad day, just doing something you love, or listening to your favorite music or being with amazing people can turn it all around. Thank you so much girls for turning my day around. I know it may shock most of you to know that I can have a bad day! But hey! I am human too and sometimes it happens, not too often but sometimes! It was such a sunny afternoon &  it was great to spend it with two awesome girls! I look forward to the next walk down the next dirty alley with you both!!!!
