I know most people would never describe me as shy. I sometimes can be though. I always come across as outgoing, but their sometimes can be that part of me that wants to hide in the corner until someone comes over to me and says hi! Photography has definitely helped me become the best person I can be. It is like something takes over when I hold the camera. I forget everything around me including shyness. I love how people such as Michelle can instantly feel at ease with me enough to let me do photos of her!

One of the most awesome, funnest reasons for doing photography is that I get to meet such sweet, amazing people. I met Michelle through another friend of mine, who I have known now for years. I had always heard about M and how sweet and awesome of a person she was. When I finally did get to meet her I was ecstatic! M was everything that my friend had described and more! I dragged her outside for a few quick photos as the snow was falling so gently and I got these pics. Can you say beautiful & photogenic much????

Using the word "Totally" is so last year - that is what  8 year old Taylor informed me. I guess I was using the word totally a little too much for her liking and she figured I was cool enough that I should be privy to this information. Taylor cracked me up and we instantly became "friends", which made it easy for her to relax around me and have her photos taken.

Taylor & me must have been born to at least eat one meal together...what would we choose....ummm Peanut Butter on anything of course. When I heard this from her I couldn't believe it! She eats Peanut Butter on pretty much anything including hot dogs!!

The next time I saw Taylor was a surprising & exciting one. I could see this girl running up the street towards me with her arms wide open, I couldn't tell who it was until she was nearly up to me. As soon she came into focus, I knew. It was Taylor with a huge hug for me. I was doing Everyone is Beautiful photos of one of her friends from off island and she wanted to come along.

This little girl is a whirlwind of information and life to me. I was introduced to one of her favorite bands as we drove to the location to shoot. Her favorite  included Chris Tomlin & now I also like his music. Taylor was really great to  photograph & have fun with but most of all I loved how she was like a light shining full of love for the world.

Boudoir photography refers to a range of looks or styles of photography that can be variously described as romantic, soft, sensual, and glamorous. Boudoir, French for bedroom, refers to images that have themes of romance, sensuality, and flirtation. It is not necessary to be nude or revealing in boudoir photography. It has more to do with an attitude or state of mind than the state of dress or undress. Since the usual purpose of boudoir photography is to make a very special and unique gift to a loved one, the primary ideas conveyed in boudoir photography are love, affection, romance, and giving.

It is very important to hire a professional photographer that will know how to make you look your best. I am offering this as an add-on to my wedding packages. Many brides choose a female photographer because they feel more comfortable with me. I can do the session in a fancy hotel room or do the pictures in your own home. Check with me to see if I can arrange a make up artist for you.

Brides Are Giving Sexy Pictures to Their Grooms

Brides are looking for something unique and sexy to give their husbands as a wedding gift. Boudoir photography is becoming a popular choice. Boudoir images are typically sexy pictures taken of a women dressed in lingerie or other sexy outfits. They are tasteful  and usually rated PG13 and tamer. The style can range from 1950's pinup classic to dressing up in a vintage French boudoir style. Many brides are choosing a more contemporary twist and having images taken in a more natural sexy style.

What should I wear?

What you wear will be determined by your taste and the style you are going for. If you are getting married you may have received lingerie at bridal showers. Any type of lingerie will work. You can also bring your little black dress, heels and even swimwear. Another option is to bring some of his clothing. Sports jerseys, dress shirts and ties or even his boxers can make for very fun and sexy pictures. Bring more outfits than you plan to use just so you have a lot of choices. Some photographers will shoot "implied nudes". These are images where it appears that you are not wearing anything but are strategically covered by a sheet or another prop.

The benefit of using a professional photographer is that you have many options. Some brides chose to make an album from the images from the session. You can also print larger images to hang in your bedroom. We can also do some head shots clean enough for him to display at work or to  keep in his wallet. Your photographer may also offer DVD slide shows set to music. Wedding gifts are usually given on the wedding day itself. You can save them to share that night with him, or give them to him earlier in the day to create anticipation for the honeymoon to come.

Who Will Be Present?

The only people who will know about the portrait session are you, the photographer, and anyone else we may have discussed. I never tell anyone else. If you would feel comfortable having another person present, then by all means ask me if you can take them along. It is important that you feel completely relaxed and safe during the photo session. We ask that you consider the amount of space available for the photo session and ensure there is enough room for you, your guest, any props or furnishing that will appear in the photos, the photographer, and the photo equipment.

An alternate idea you might consider is a "Girls Night Out" where you plan a party around a boudoir photography theme. Multiple people can be included in the photo session.

Tips for doing a boudoir session:

Don't be nervous. My job is to make you look your best and help you feel relaxed. Your hair and makeup should be done as if for a special occasion and slightly more dramatic than your normal daytime look. Don't forget to bring accessories like jewelry and matching shoes. Make sure you also bring your engagement ring!

The most important tip is to have a lot of fun with it. Your groom will love this very special and intimate gift. For years to come he will have these beautiful images you created just for him.

SueZGallant:

I think this sounds like an amazing time. What a way to bring out the confidence in someone. You do such a great job in doing that! Thinking about booking one... I don't have to be getting married do I?

(07.17.09)
You ROCK!!:

Another AWESOME shot, love the lashes....you are the BEST!

(07.17.09)
Shygirl:

Wow, these are really great. Confidence is something that I struggle with on a daily basis. I have subscribed to your blog, and am going to keep watching for more of these shoots, cause by the looks of this one, there will be more to come.

(07.17.09)
Rachel:

No you definitely do not need to be married or get married to have these "Everyone is Beautiful - Boudoir" sessions done! The number one reason for them is to empower YOU!

Shygirl: Would you like to set up a meeting to meet with me and this will make you feel more comfortable? Confidence is an issue for a lot of woman, and I am hearing that these sessions help with that!

(07.17.09)
Cmatheson:

I love the idea of this session! I think that I could benefit from a session like this. I've recently been diagnosed with Kidney disease and have been put on Prednisone, which in turn has made me very self conscious of my physical appearance. Although I am thankful for the drug I don't like it's many side effects.
This is a wonderful idea!!

This red head is full of life and love for those around her. I could see it in her eyes. Cindy's eyes lit up when she spoke of her friends and her family, especially her nephews. I loved hearing about her future plans for her 40th birthday and love the idea that her and her friends have about celebrating.

I was excited to hear that she wanted to do an "Everyone is Beautiful" session for no reason, no reason at all. This is the best time to do these sessions - I just love it! Just because you want to do something for yourself when life gets busy. Don't let your youth and beauty pass you by! Capture it now!

We live in a society where social acceptance is to most people a critical means of life. We also live in a world where media and pop culture dictates what is beautiful or who or what we should look like.Unfortunately, this beautiful is hours of work, layers or makeup and endless editing to hide the flaws and cover up the "soft" spots. The reality is that we are not privy to the editing and endless labor. So the "Everyone is Beautiful" sessions tear down the boundaries, and let beauty of all sorts be captured through the eyes of my lens.

Everyone is Beautiful sessions are just that - capturing the things about you that make you beautiful. There is no measurement of beauty, and I recognize that everyone is unique. These sessions are dictated by you - letting you capture you when you feel most beautiful. Maybe that's you wearing your favorite t-shirt, or hair tied in a ponytail, or you wearing your most comfy pair of jeans. It may be you wearing your lingerie that you take out only on special occasions, or that intimate thing that only you know about. These sessions are meant to make all ages feel comfortable, and empower you in whatever you feel most comfortable.

Many clients have come to me after their sessions and thanked me for empowering them at their best. I always feel rewarded after each of my sessions, but a recent session, reinforced why I do what I do, and made me realize that I can make a difference.
