Has anyone tried the amazing new Moksha Spa that has hit Charlottetown? It is completely amazing, beautiful and peaceful!!! I have always had problems quitting my mind. I can say shhhhh, go to sleep to myself, and eyes are wide open and my brain keeps going. It could be 3am, and I will be putting ideas in my iphone and not getting much sleep.

The first time I did hot yoga was at the Moksha Spa on the waterfront in Charlottetown. I could hardly do the yoga. I was horrible at it. I drank 3 bottles of water in one class, and was dripping with sweat. Sounds attractive right? But that is the funny thing. No one cared. I didn't even care. When I finished the class I felt amazing. Anyone who knows me how hyper I can be. I could hardly talk after this class. Talking is not permitted once you enter the Yoga room, and that is awesome. I left slurring my words. I think it was the first time, my mind had stopped for that long in a long time. I felt so relaxed, ease and inspired all at the same time!

It is such a welcoming environment for someone who has never done something like this before. The facility is all green created with environmentally friendly products such as cork studio floor, VOC free paint,
energy efficient washer/dryers, filtered showers and faucets & natural mat disinfectant among many other things. So for anyone who has the same unsettled mind as I do, this is something that might be for you to try.

I love to travel. Anyone who knows me already knows that. Their is one thing I hate about traveling that people might be surprised at. I hate leaving my work. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. It feels uncontrollable & uncomfortable. Am I a workaholic because I like to be at work? or does that just mean I enjoy my chosen path?

I have about 10000 butterflies in my stomach right now as I sit in the Ottawa airport waiting for my next flight to fun. I worry about the people who didn't their pics sooner than later. I worry about my sister who helped non stop get as much done as humanly possible. Worry. Worry. Worry. Oh and then there is the guilt. The guilt of others that say they want to travel but cannot afford it, and they say "it must be nice". I want everyone to be able to see the world with as much excitement as I do. I really do. I do know that I need the break, I just wish everyone could break with me!

I know that when you start doing things that you love and really want, not everyone is going to understand. I love being able to travel and have the freedom to do so with no children, big mortgage or student loans. These are all choices for me. They may not work for everyone but they work for me at this stage of my life.

I know it will be difficult to quiet my mind with the zillion of things that go through it in a day. I am hoping that the sound of the ocean, the company I will keep and the sand between my toes will help!

*Update* since I started the post. Here is what happened.

As I was just sitting here feeling guilty & thinking about work. Enrrrrrriquo (a fun flight attentant for my next flight) with 6 R's just sat himself down and asked me where I was going. I said to Jamaica and told him of my guilt. Why do people just feel the need to come up to me to chat? LOL...anyways.....Enriquo told me that I was creating revenue for the people at the resort, so to make sure I party it up and enjoy myself! Also, that I will come back from vacation with a million more ideas in my head than before I left! I meet the funniest & most amazing people at airports.

So thank You
Enriquo & everyone else who forced me away from the computer & from staying home and working some more.

Thank you very much.

I could eat sunflare up for breakfast, dinner & supper. I love it. Love it a lot. It creates the softest most amazing portrait light.

Courtney contacted me to do this Empower the Dress session with her and Tyler, just a few days after her wedding. I was excited because she was so excited! Excitement like that is contagious! We went out to the beach in Greenwich and just enjoyed the beautiful light, and then I captured the sunset pic below.

Empower the Dress sessions do not have to be about trashing your dress and ruining it. I just think having a second shoot with your beautiful dress is important. More time to play & relax and do more pics! Oh and you get to dress in your gorgeous dress again...that's always fun!

Criminal Lawyers in Tampa:

I choose this photos to leave a comment because I find it artistic... Although I'm not a professional photographer I can feel the spirit of a real one. Angles applied in different shots is good as well as the scene and the lighting. Subjects are always in the focus, in addition they portray well the feeling of being a true" couple . Even though there is a defocus style of shots still its work of the art! Nice to see this pictures.

(11.25.10)
Helen McDougall:

These set of pictures are fantastic. I love the consecutive photos with the subjects holding a horseshoe. It's very spontaneous. I also like the effects made on the beach, especially that the male subject wore a color accented with the rays of the sun. It somehow emphasized the theme and the setting of the photo. Also, it highlighted the dress of the bride.

(12.02.10)
Janice Kenny:

Love the lighting...makes me miss the sunshine and warm summer nights!!

(12.05.10)
Frances:

Great shots! And that sunset. Wowzers!!!

(12.06.10)
Courtney:

Thanks again for the pictures Rachel...everyone loves the album!! We had a blast!!! I love how nothing was planned beyond the location....the amazing sunset, the shirt Tyler wore, and the horseshoes all matched and totally not planned. Also, I loved how we found the horseshoe on our way back from the beach...it was pretty cool! Yellow became the theme colour! lol!! :)

So yesterday I did 20 boudoir/ pole shoots with 20 amazing women. One session right after another. What an amazing day! Most of these women, I would guess 90% had never done a photography session like this before. I was glad to have one on one time with each of these "models".

When I had this one on one time with each women, I asked them a question. Most of them were doing this for Christmas presents for their partners but one girls answer to this question was awesome! This paticular client said that she was doing this shoot for herself. She was really in shock that she was doing this at all. Her along with everyone who has ever done a boudoir shoot with me was extremely nervous. This client wanted to help her self esteem, and move further on this journey of self enlightenment. The pole classes that she was taking were helping her coming out of her shell of shyness.

I believe that everyone of these women were involved for a good reason. Each one of them gave me a piece of their personalities in these sessions last night. I hope that they all felt beautiful as they looked!

So yesterday I had the pleasure of spending the day with my sweet niece Madison. Madison is in Grade 9 and they had the choice of going to work with a family member or doing a project at school. The obvious answer is to go to school. LOL. NOTTTT! She decided to come to work with me, and I was happy to have her. We chatted, listed to some music, edited, created 2 albums, answered emails, went through my to do list & even booked 2 trips before noon! Then in the afternoon, we had a shoot to do!

I talked to Madison about future career plans. Their is a lot of pressure in Grade 9, 10 & on ward in school to make some choices for future paths. She asked me a lot of questions as to what led me to where I am. Of course I don't feel like I am the one with all the answers but felt I have quite a bit of life experience to share with her. Madison is smart & very open. Like really smart & open to all possibilities. I know that whatever she chooses she will succeed & I will be right there to cheer her on!

Oh did I mention that I love her. Cause I do. A lot.
