What do I wear to our Engagement/Love Session?
The possibilities are endless. They REALLY REALLY are. To prove this, my friend (a photographer from Winnipeg) Jodi & her husband Dave provided me with their amazing spirit, and attitude and helped me out!
1. Wear something that you love and feel comfortable in it. If you aren't comfortable in the way you look, it will be more difficult to capture you in your real personality. It might show up in the photos.
3. Choose outfits that are complimentary in style; no need to be
matchy matchy. Not to often are you both getting up in the morning asking each other what you are wearing so you can match. I don't particularly want you both to wear black shirts & jeans either. What you will see in the next blog post matches but does not look you are trying to be twins! Try to stay away from patterns, and logos.
4. Let's talk shoes and accessories! I love them both!
5. Props & Themes. I love them, I love using them, and doing the whole session around them! It helps if I know your likes and dislikes before so I can try to center the session around a theme that suits you!
So my friends Jodi & Davooooo went to Value Village and spent around $30 to outfit both of them including shoes and jewelery. I am not saying that you have to spend money at all, but if you are going to buy an outfit, you may end up spending more than $30 at a store.
Check out the next blog post to see the shoot after we put all of our purchases together!
...oh one more thing....have fun!

The idea of capturing a family photo session centered around a family picnic & treasure hunt just added to the fun. I love these kind of family shoots. I am sure these kids will remember this day for a long time. Not because I took the photos to show them and help them remember, but because Janice & Paul are amazing parents with lots of love for these two special children. They will remember this for years to come because of the fun and excitement involved. Neither one of them stopped smiling from the start of the shoot to the very end, even when they hugged me when I left.
I hope they grow up realizing how much Janice & Paul love them & carry that love through many years and pass it on to many people.

I have just returned from an amazing vacation and enjoyed all that I was exposed to. I met amazing people, had amazing moments and seen some amazing land. I met giving people, brilliant people, happy people and sharing people. I think that every encounter in life is meant for you to learn something from and for that I am grateful.
Giving to others is part of what we are placed on this earth for. I feel extremely blessed with all I have, in my world. I am especially grateful for the love that surrounds me.
So it is simple...comment ANYWHERE on my blog and it will be tracked from today forward. For every comment left on my blog between now and December 18th, I will donate a can of goods to the local food bank. Helping someone this holiday season has never been easier. The more comments, the more cans I donate! Feel free to comment more than once because I have no limit on giving! Grab a coffee and start commenting!

I got heat now and as he was leaving he tells me that because of all the trouble I had today, its on the house. So to return the giving I want to match your cans donated tomorrow ( Sunday ). Rachel: ummm what? where/when is your wedding? I love your freckles!!! Tell me everything!
That is pretty much how it started. A friendship that started in the pool under the sunny skies of Jamaica ended in a impromptu engagement session on the beach at sunset. I needed to hear all the details of the engagement and the wedding as if Hattie & I had been friends for a lifetime, so all the details were shared!
Details such as how Scott got her a custom made ring created at Lessard Coutu Custom Jewellers in St. Catharine's. I cannot wait to see the ring itself, it sounded amazingly beautiful. It was being sized while they were on vacation.
Scott & Hattie have been together for almost 6 years, since they both attended Holy Cross Catholic School. Scott now works as a shift engineer, and Hattie is a high school teacher.
As the week went on we had supper many times, lots of laughs, and hung out/in and around the pool with this awesomely sweet & fun couple. I think fate placed Hattie & I together in the pool that day to meet. Scott & Hattie planned their vacation before Scott popped the question to Hattie, what a perfect way to celebrate.
I love fate and how it brings amazing people to me. Keep on working with me fate, keep on working with me.

Awe, what a happy story and such a beautiful couple. Fate was with you all during this vacation. Rachel as usual, amazing pictures. Congrats to the Scott and Hattie as well.:)
