This is the last post in my Cans for Comments blogging bonanza. Most days have brought in many many lunches, suppers for people in need. It is a great feeling to give to someone in need. It can open up a world of possibilities for them. These people are counting on our help. Tell me that someday if you were in the same situation you would not appreciate the help. We should all be treating each other as we want to be treated.

I did this Empower the Dress session in the fall with my makeup artist - Amanda Thoy. I call her mine because she is my go to girl for makeup when I have sessions or sometimes questions for myself! Amanda & Kevin were married earlier this summer and I didn't get to photograph their wedding - I was booked :-( So I got the chance to do the Empower the Dress session with them one colorful Sunday morning. What better day to start the day. Amanda & Kevin were open to anything I suggested, and you know how I feel about that! LOVE!

So comment on this post and comment on any other post and make someone's day a happier brighter one!

Chloe & Isaak remind me my brother & I, and my cousin Ashley & Nicole. Ashley is Chloe and Isaak's dad. They remind me of us not just because of age similarities but because you can see that Chloe loves her baby brother. During this shoot she tried to entertain him, tickle him, make him smile, help him sit up, dress him & definitely snuggle him. I am sure both Nicole & I did the same with our brothers. Isaak & Chloe are the miniature images of their parents, so adorable!

Chloe is now into ballet, but don't let that fool you. That is not her only interest. Chloe is fascinated with dinky cars. Chloe lined up all of her cars to show me, and their is 103 dinky cars in the line up!! My niece Sparky Ming Ming also has a little obsession with cars too! They both can likely teach me about cars at this stage! I love that she has so many of them and loves to play with them. Isaak will definitely appreciate this soon!

Isaak is a mini Ashley. I have never see such a resemblance! Isaak is so sweet and snuggley, and this will be his first Christmas. I had the chance to photograph Krista & Ashley in the hospital when they were waiting for Isaak to arrive!

I hope my family in "Sizzerside" enjoy the holidays in their new home!

Madison who is now 14 years old, or 5 in my mind.
Meleah aka Sparky Ming Ming is now 7 years old or 3 in my mind.

It's just that easy. You pretend time stood still and no one has aged. It gets a little harder to play this game when you open your eyes and see how much they have grown. It seems like yesterday I was in the delivery room when Meleah was being born. The day before that so shy Madison would barely give me a hug at the young age of 2. It is days like the day of this shoot when I think how precious life is and how people should remain in the moment as much as they can. All I could hear is laughter and squeals as we played at the playground. Oh it is also easy for me to think I am as young as they are. I cannot imagine not soaking up every precious moment with them every chance I get.

Oh these girls own my heart whether they are 3, 5, 28 or 50. I cannot imagine my life without them.

I loved that Sparky Ming Ming allowed me to come to school with her and capture her life in Grade 2. Grade 2? Yes. Grade 2. Seriously where does the time go?

We met with her teacher Miss Callaghan, and she was more than happy to let us capture this age and grade at school. Meleah really likes her teacher and was excited to do photos in her class. She showed me around the school with such pride.

Meleah has a variety of personality traits that I adore about her.

:funny
:sentimental
:rock n roll girl - very musical
:aspiring, ambitious, motivated
:cheerful
:thoughtful

...and the thing I love the most, is that she gives the VERY best hugs!

One of Jen's best friends taught with Chris and strongly suggested they were perfect for each other. Time went by and Chris finally convinced Natasha to give him Jen's number. Jen said yes and they went for hot dogs and ice cream on the beach and had an amazing date. The next date was only supposed to be a few drinks at the pub ended up being a 3 day road trip to the rodeo. Jen remembers looking over at Chris on the 3 hour drive back to Vancouver thinking she would marry this man one day...and she did!

Jen & Chris decided to get married in Rollo Bay, Prince Edward Island where Jen grew up. The ceremony took place at St. Alexis parish which is an old church that all Jen's family have been going to the past 50 years. Chris and Jen were both shaking as she walked down the aisle. Guests told them afterward they had never seen a man look at a women the way Chris looked at Jen coming down the aisle with such love in his eyes. Jen's old friend from High School Mary Chaisson performed in the church with her guitar and it was beautiful. Jen walked down the isle to "Red is the Rose" and old Irish song and she performed some other beautiful hymns. At the end of the ceremony the Priest said an old Irish blessing as its only fitting with a McCloskey wedding.

Jen wanted to keep the decoration's simple with white table cloths and lots of fresh flowers and more of a rustic look. They asked that guests fill out messages to us on quilt pieces instead of a signing book. They will now have a gorgeous quilt to remind them of all the people that were there to support us and enjoy this very special day. They had fiddle music and moonshine punch and the night could not have gone better. There's nothing like a good old barn dance!

What a beautiful summer day, a beautiful bride, amazingly fun helpful group of family and friends. I met Jen via email when she first inquired with me, but from the first few emails I knew that she was an enthusiastic & fun kind of girl. When I first met her and heard her laugh, I knew my instincts were correct. Jen & Chris were living in British Columbia until just recently when they decided to move back to PEI. Once an islander, always an islander for Jenn! This was my second wedding "down east" in Souris this summer. I love this area. Everyone is so friendly and fun. I have never photographed up here once and not had a helpful fun group to work with.

If you would like to see a slide show with more of the days pics, please click
here.

Welcome back to PEI Jen & Chris, all the best to you both!

I just loved their "how they met" story....I've always thought regardless the risk that you should go after what you want in life and see where it takes you....sometimes where it takes you is pure bliss :) Life is full of leaps! Congrats to these two!!!
