Trienke & Jane have no idea how much they brightened my day. They were willing to be excited about any idea I had for a photo. They didn't even question a thing I said. I had photographed Trienke last spring in an Everyone is Beautiful Session. I was excited to photograph her again, and this time with her cousin, Jane.

We walked around downtown beautiful Charlottetown after sampling pretty much everything that Gusto's had to offer. I laughed at these two so much on the outside and the inside. Sometimes when you are having a bad day, just doing something you love, or listening to your favorite music or being with amazing people can turn it all around. Thank you so much girls for turning my day around. I know it may shock most of you to know that I can have a bad day! But hey! I am human too and sometimes it happens, not too often but sometimes! It was such a sunny afternoon &  it was great to spend it with two awesome girls! I look forward to the next walk down the next dirty alley with you both!!!!

I have been wanting to try out this delightful pasty shop since it opened last year and just have not got around to doing so. A friend was by on Saturday and suggested we check it out. I jumped at the chance and was grateful that I did. Well I don't know if my waistline will be grateful because I was just there on Saturday and after I finish this post, I may have to go back!

The shop (Gusto Patisserie) is owned by Adnan & Pinar Paputcu. They moved here in April of 2009 with their two sons from Istanbul, Turkey. The couple noticed that their were few restaurants in the area for the type of foods that they missed from back home. They thought about opening a business. Pinar knew what she wanted in a business, fresh quality ingredients, clean surroundings & kitchen and a comfortable place to relax and sit. They looked around Charlottetown for places to rent and decided to renovate a building from top to bottom, and after 2 months they were ready to open.

I for one am glad they did. Oh my goodness, you have to try it all out. Between 3 girls, we must have tried one of everything they had to offer. The menu changes throughout the day and their is always something new to try! The prices are awesome, the food is awesome & surroundings awesome! So I guess I will sum it up by saying that Gusto's is awesome!!!!

It is funny how you are placed on the plane with people when traveling, A random drawing of names and numbers. Some you strike up amazing conversation and others you don't even make eye contact. Don't you have to wonder if the universe places you with certain people for a reason? I recently sat next to a women, who told me all about how she moved to Canada from her home country of Korea, where she is now as a women treated very differently. She was on her way back to Korea to face her family for the first time since she up and left. She told me many of the differences between Canada and her homeland and how women are treated. We talked the whole 4 hour flight non stop. I couldn't get enough of her stories. Luckily no one was sitting between us!

I believe things happen for a reason. Everything, and I mean everything is a test of some sort from the universe. Many people react differently to different events, and some thrive on stress or change. We talked about our common belief in the universe and how we likely were meant to sit together on the plane. She was reading a book and took out her book mark to show me.

Two women from two different worlds & upbringings. I knew at that exact moment when I read that bookmark that we were definitely meant to come into each others lives.

Can you believe that I didn't win? Well of COURSE you can. Did you see the talent that was associated with the Fresh Faces contest in Vegas? I came 2nd in the competition with over 10,000 votes, and the winner was with 16,000. These image choices that were included for this contest were amazing and stunning, and would definitely all be worthy of the award.

I applaud the winner Fresh Sugar Photography which is a fellow Canadian in Alberta. YAY! The image is of a child looking out a school bus window.

I am honestly so happy to have been put with this caliber of work. I had so many well wishers and support, via email, messages & even surprise door decorating when I got home (Thanks Jennifer!!!!). It only made me want to move further, and want to continue my photography and to shoot for the stars.

Love is what it is all about really. Loving your work, Loving what you do, Loving your life. I loved that I was even considered with my image of Chloe. I cannot tell you how proud I felt when I seen that image up with the others. I love what I do and am so grateful that I can do it. Thank you all, each and every one of you for your support and endless voting.

Remember, Love is really what it is all about.

I cannot explain to people how it feels when I say that my heart will explode. People always seem to laugh when I say it. I mean I literally get this feeling of my heart being so happy and grateful for my experiences in this life that my heart could just near explode. It feels like it is swelling up just like the Grinch in the Christmas movie.

Inspiration is surrounding me, all on topics that I love and cannot get enough of. Photography. Capturing Moments. I am lucky that I have people in my life that are being supportive of my dreams and love for photography. They push me and give me the extra I might need at times to believe in myself and push forward. As I type this I wish I was better with words so I could explain to you how happy all this support is making me feel.

I have received nothing but support and heartfelt wishes for my print that is in competition for Rangefinder cover. I honestly don't care if I win. Well of course it would be awesome to win...BUT...at this point, the experience of making it to this point has been nothing but inspiration and is giving me a little more push to keep going. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a "big head" photographer and am quite modest about my work.

My heart going to explode is feeling like nothing else. It is the best feeling in the world. I can only hope that other people find their passion in this world and follow it.
