Shadi & Mohammad introduced me to a whole new world of nervous. I was nervous to shoot this wedding because I had never shot one even remotely like this before. I run on this kind of challenge though, so I welcomed it with open arms! The ceremony was completely different than I was used to & the traditions were all different. Now to make sure you understand, different is not necessarily a bad thing. I had the help of a video grapher from Washington know as Suburban Video. Bill Bowen walked me through the whole day step by step and told me what to watch for, what was important and then told me to put my twist on it. I did just that. I cannot thank Bill for all the tips and help, and I hope you did the sunrise shoot I was telling you about before you left for your trip back to Washington.

Mohammad made the voyage
from the Middle East to Prince Edward Island to go to our University in Charlottetown. Shadi was soon to follow. Then comes the love part. Mohammad & Shadi found a lot different things about PEI but now love every minute of those different qualities. I cannot help but be proud that they love it so much. I love my island as well.

When the video grapher and I had a few minutes to ourselves, we discussed PEI and it 's unique qualities that he noticed. One of which was the pride he noticed in the landscape and people's homes and yards. I had shot many times at the Lieutenant Governors house but it was fun to watch someone who had never been there before have new ideas for a wedding video. The Charlottetown Hotel was the location for the ceremony and the reception. It was decorated beautifully with flowers from Hearts & Flowers.

I am honored that Mohammad & Shadi did chose me to be a part of their oh so special day instead of choosing an off island photographer! I loved learning about your traditions and getting to know you both and your families.

80 is the new 50, that is what she said to me. I knew she was talking about age, but didn't think it was possible for her to be 80 years old. Jean has the spirit of a young person. As soon as she started talking, I knew I should just listen.

Jean moved to Canada with her late husband Robert or better known as Bert. The couple originated from Scotland, and moved here because Bert was given a business opportunity many many years ago. Jean now calls Edmonton her home. Krista (my beautiful bride from today) met Jean & Bert because Krista's father worked with him. Bert & Krista's Dad became great friends, and because of this they became like an extended family.

As I was listening to her stories of travel, life and adventure, I could only hope this would be me when I was 80. Jean was on her way to Hawaii after PEI, then to San Fransisco and finally to Montreal and then back to Edmonton. She told me that Hawaii was her favorite place of all the places worldwide she had ever been to. When I asked her about her love for traveling, she answered like a 50 year old saying "I should do it now before I get old". Jean went on to tell me "that life was for living not sitting around waiting to get old".

This is the exact moments I love about my weddings, my couples that I get the privilege to work with. I meet the most amazing people who give me signs that I am the correct path of life. It is like the universe is constantly poking at me saying, keep going. Just keep going.

I met Jean as she sat reading her book about love (Betty Neals - Slice of Summer). How fitting for her to be reading about love, when it was happening right in front of her face between two people that she loved so much!

So today's the big day for Lindy & Li! The weather seems to be holding out with no rain but lots of clouds, my favorite way to shoot!!! YAY!

I met up with Lindy & Li for their engagement session in Charlottetown just last week. They just arrived from Ottawa and I was glad to finally meet them after email communication. I cannot imagine not doing an engagement session or at least meeting with clients and just showing up the day of the wedding. It helps them meet me and understand how I shoot. As well it helps me get to know them, how they interact, and how they react to the paparazzi, I mean the camera.

It was just like meeting friends that I hadn't seen in a while. I love my clients. Did I tell you lately that I love my clients? Awesome doesn't begin to cover who they are! Lindy & Li will have a perfect day today with their outside wedding, and their photogenic personalities will shine through for me, YAY!

The beauty of a woman
Is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries,
Or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman
Must be seen from her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman
Is not a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman
Is reflected in her soul.

It is the caring she lovingly gives,
The Passion that she shows.
The beauty of a woman with passing years --
only grows and grows.

Angela is the latest member of the Island Tweethearts. We welcomed her yesterday officially as one of our founders did a random draw for the open position. The Tweethearts have had much interest in our group of networking women and have much media exposure.

I had met Angela before the official welcome to our group on the evening we decided to do her photo shoot. Angela works at UPEI as a Fitness & Wellness Coordinator and has been in that position for the past 4 years. She has a fun loving, gentle personality which is awesome!

I love doing Everyone is Beautiful Sessions with women. Women need to
know that they are loved and that they are beautiful inside and out.

I met Katelyn & David over a year ago when we choose to meet to do their engagement session in Charlottetown. I knew from the minute I met them that they would be a sweet couple to work with. I spent the time with them doing their session which seems like yesterday, but now that along with their wedding day have passed. It is hard to believe that wedding photography requires over a year ahead to be booked.

Katelyn & David's day was at the beautiful Stanley Bridge Resort. The weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony overlooking the water. Friends and Family were all very happy to see this amazing time finally here! We then went around the New London area to do photos. The day ended back at Stanley Bridge Resort for a delicious meal and some dancing!
