Summer fun of 2013 is now coming to a close and my littlest darling & her big sister have to head back to school this week. It seems so crazy how fast PEI’s 2 best months of the year can fly by so quickly. It seems like just yesterday I was at a school and kids were getting on the bus for the last time for the summer break. I remember one child rhyming off all of the things that he would accomplish this summer. I hope he has had the chance to put a check mark beside these items on his summer fun list.
I can only dream and wish for the best for my nieces this year at school. It’s so easy to look back in time and think of things I would have done differently when I was still in school. Right now in this moment as I am writing these, I can still see how some of them still apply in some way or another!
Get involved with after school groups or activities as well as more volunteer.
Play more sports until you find one that you love. It helps clear the mind and exercise is always good! It also plays a huge part in confidence and self worth in girls.
Make new friends and interact with new people instead of always staying with one friend or two. Making new friends opens up your world.
Accepting Yourself as you are at any given time. I think this affects all aspects of your life. Everyone is created unique, so we should embrace it.
Create my own opinions and not follow the ones of others.
Never say “I’m Bored” or try not to feel bored by finding fun and creative ways to express myself.
Not worry about having or not having a love as life doesn’t require a girl to be a princess with a prince to complete her. Life is about so much more.
Not worry about what others think about me.
Not worry in general as much.
Be a Leader by starting new projects that will help your community and open the minds of others.
Be Free by being more open.
It’s quite interesting as I look at this list, how easy they may seem when you are looking back. It’s also quite interesting that some of them I could do better at presently. It seems like my blog post about Sparky heading back to school has just taught me a lesson.
Wishes, Happiness and Love being sent out to all of you who are seeing a child off to school this week. It can’t be easy to let your child walk out the door and hope that you have taught them the best way to make decisions in this world. Trust that you have!
